Lady Bug Bracelet for a Special Girl

I took a road trip out to Boulder to visit the Celestial Seasonings plant a few weeks ago. Boy was I in heaven. Not only did they offer a free educational tour about the process of gathering leaves and herbs for their tea, they gave samples of delicious iced tea. Unfortunately, their café was closed, but they had a sitting area in the front where they showcased the work of all the artists who’ve contributed to their delightful packaging over the years. I loved it! I got to see for myself the original of the Siamese cat wearing a kimono sipping tea. The process of how they started as a small entity and grew into the business they are today was and inspiration to my little, itty bitty entrepreneurial self.

I never thought I would be one of those crafters that toted a project around with them while traveling. Considering how uninspired I’ve been lately to sit and work at my current workspace, I thought it might be good for me to take a project and work in a different environment.

It was, and I had a pressing and important project I wanted to complete. This was a bracelet for a second cousin of mine who is three years old. She’s a cutie and apparently is fond of lady bugs. In my mind I imagined her in a strawberry patch with an adorable red dress on with a lady bug print, holding a basket, and wearing a matching bonnet. I know. It’s an exaggerated stretch of the imagination, but I tried to imagine a bracelet that would compliment that sort of outfit.

I was honored to present this little bracelet for my little cousin. Below are the pictures (click on them to get a larger view). My cousin is looking forward to a new son soon!
